Hi everyone, I've had a chance to go through everyone's posts over the last week and a bit, and I've laced through comments where they've occurred to me. I think the blog is going well, and there's some really good posts here. However, several people have slipped off the wagon in terms of posting every week, and that's something to be careful about.
Here are some links and videos which I thought might be of interest:
KOLM - a simple browser game where you play a robot seeking to rebuild themselves. Has the pattern of backtracking as you get new abilities common to the Metroid games, and is well worth a look.
Someone produces an animated video, complete with voiceover, dramatising an online review of a free flash game. Entirely comedic, very well done, and links into the Representing Games and Gamers lecture.
A video demonstrating the invention of a method which produces 3D visuals for videogames without any glasses whatsover... yet which is itself Deeply Insane.
Finally, we have a video which has resulted from someone fooling around with Grand Theft Auto 4 until all of the cars are entirely frictionless, which is a good example of hacking for the sake of hacking. The video is hilarious, gruesome, and it shows how a relatively simple change can turn the setting of a game entirely apocalyptic.

The GTA4 car handling thing was funny, but I'm at little frightened of the new 3D thing to be honest.
