The Razer Switchblade. Possibly one of the biggest concepts to hit the PC gaming world. It aims to make PC gaming more portable than it has ever been. "We took a familiar traditional piece of hardware, the keyboard, and developed all new user-interface designed just for mobile PC gaming" says Min-Liang the CEO of Razer. This is a prime example of how games shape technological advances, and will eventually become without a doubt, also an example of how technology shapes games. The Switchblade configures itself, shaping its keyboard to suit the game which is being played.
And, this new way of playing games will also end up changing how some games are programed. With a keyboard that has keys that can change to suit any situation, game designers will undoubtedly use this to try new things. With the removal of a set keyboard, the options open to both game developers and gamers widens, and where this leads to in the future will definitely be very interesting.
